He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Eugene Claxton Sr. and Kathleen Neely Claxton; his grandson Bentley Claxton; and his siblings, Anita Claxton, Eugene Claxton Jr. and Richard Anthony.

He is survived by: his children, Larry Anthony Claxton (Tamara) of Shelbyville and Niki Wilson (Travis) of Houston, Texas; his sisters, Mary Ann, Sanders of Shelbyville and Juanita Wisdom of Lenoir City; and his grandsons, Elijah Claxton and Benjamin Claxton.
