He was predeceased by: his parents, Tallie Gray and Della Ann Simmons Dodson; his wife Bonnie Darlene Dodson; and his brothers, Roger and Melvin Dodson.
He is survived by: his son Gary Dodson (Devin) of Manchester; his siblings, Joseph, Jerry, William Dodson (Karen), Joann Prince (Scott), Merlin Smith, Sandra Bradford (Roy) and Martha Hughes (Gary); and his grandchildren, Raven, Gary Jr., Anthony, Nathan, Cameron, Jasmine and Eric. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren.
