He was predeceased by: his parents, Roscoe May (Dick) and Viola Pearl Ridenour May; his former wife Rita Hayes May of Decherd, TN; his siblings, Rosie Norris, Betty Monday, Ernestine Borin, Mary Jane Butler, George May and Glen May; and his stepdaughters, Melissa Smartt and Angela Griffy.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Hale May; his children, Deborah Lawrence (Clark), Billy May (Marilyn), Edie May and Cleveland; his stepson William Dee Hale (Carol); his grandchildren, Eric May (Joanne), Blaine May, Brian Lawrence (Alisabeth) and Andrea Lawrence; his stepgrandchildren, Brittany Epperson (Justin), LaTonya Curtis (Brian), Mary Hale, Andrew Smartt and Daniel Smartt; his great grandchildren, Aaron May, Charlie May and Theodore Lawrence; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Bailey Curtis and Mason Curtis; and his siblings, Dorothy, Carolyn Baker of Clinton, TN and Calvin May (Lillian). He is also survived by his family and many friends.
