She was predeceased by: her parents, George Poynter and Susie Poynter (Doyle Sims); her son Larry Sims; and her siblings, Sally Bynum, Ruth Horn, Georgie Lee Tucker, Elsie Pate, Pauline Melling, Louise Pryzgoda, Mary Alice Poynter, Earl Poynter, William Poynter and Walter Poynter.
She is survived by: her son David Sims (Donna); and her grandchildren, Samuel Sims, Bonnie Roberts (David) of Sharon, Sandra Vallee (Phillip), Billy, Bobby Sims, Lea Ann Crowe (Phil) of Martin, TN and Amy Frankum of Union City, TN.. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren.
