She was predeceased by: her husband John G. Bessent; and her parents, Charles Viniard and Wanda Patton. She is survived by: her children, Courtnie Maxwell (John) of South Carolina, Matthew Bessent of Illinois and Sammy Bessent of Sharon, TN; her sisters, Kay Holyfield of Kentucky and Martha Gibson of Kentucky; and her stepbrothers, Mike Burnett and Mark Burnett of Kentucky. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren.
