He was predeceased by: his parents, Joel Hugh McGowan and Edna Lorraine Roland. He is survived by: his wife Sheila Gatewood McGowan; his children, Michael Stuart McGowan of Batesville, AR and Erin Marie McGowan of Oak Park, MI; his stepdaughter Precious Cardwell (Colt) of Dresden; and his grandchildren, Merra Lee McGowan of Birdie Cardwell, A. J and Saige Cardwell.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Shop with Sheriff Smith and Justice Fundraiser for underprivilaged children at Christmas. Donations can be sent to the Weakley County Sheriff's Dept.
