He was predeceased by: his parents, James Neal Jones and Maggie French Jones; and his siblings, Eugene, James Edward Jones and Sarah Jones Henderson.

He is survived by: his wife Mary M. Jones; and his children, Terry Gaertner, Wilma Alumbaugh, Susan Freshour, Diane Strausburg, Janet Nelson and Lin. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren.
