He was predeceased by: his wife Martha VanMeter; his daughter Stacy VanMeter; and his parents, Chester VanMeter and America Carroll VanMeter. He is survived by: his son Matt VanMeter (Ashley) of Grant, Ala; his grandchildren, Alayna and Fisher VanMeter; and his siblings, Polly Poole (Tom) of Martin, TN, Rex VanMeter (Janet) of Louisville, KY and Johnny VanMeter (Mary) of Elizabethtown, KY..
