She was predeceased by: her parents, Roby McQueen and Leona McQueen; her husband J. L. Shumate, Sr.; and her siblings, Kathleen Maxwell, Imogene Reece and Vernon McQueen.
She is survived by: her son John Shumate (Lorrie) of Shady Valley, TN; her sister Betty Hurley of Chambersburg, PA; her nephew Roger Reece; and her pets, Precious and Pumpkin. She is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Shady Valley Volunteer Fire Department, c/o Conley Gentry, Walker Road, Shady Valley, TN 37688.
