He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Hand and Ruby Hand; his daughters, Sherry Hand and Karen Hand; and his brothers, James "Bud" Hand, Dennis Hand and Larry Hand.
He is survived by: his daughter Charlotte Ball of Glade Spring, VA; his sisters, Linda Hayes (Jerry) of Abingdon, VA and Connie Meredith (Glenn) of High Point, NC; his grandchildren, Hope Nash and Joshua Ball; his great grandchildren, Lillian Ball, Noah Nash and Sophia Ball; and his close friend Peyton Shelly. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
