She was predeceased by: her husband Barry Smith Sr.; her parents, Gladys Sampsell and Ward Sampsell Sr.; and her brother Ward Sampsell Jr.. She is survived by: her son Barry Smith Jr. (Jennifer); her granddaughter Kaylea Teaster (Josh); and her siblings, Barry Sampsell (Mary Ann), Joann Altier (Charlie), Beverly Miller and Charlotte Smoyer.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Smoky Mountain Area Rescue Ministry.
