He was predeceased by: his wife Libby Hancock; his parents, Fred Hancock and Julia Hancock; his son Hal Whaley; and his brothers, Eulis Hancock, Ronnie Hancock and Burl Hancock.
He is survived by: his children, Rob Whaley (Kathy) and Lisa Whaley Lane; his grandchildren, Tyler Ayers, Summer Whaley, Rosalie Lane and Chloe Dunlap; his great grandchildren, Nixon Ayers, Luna Ayers and Ryland Whaley; his grandsons, Joe Hancock and Leroy Hancock; and his close friend Lonnie Pratt.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 26th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, September 27th 2024 from 10:45 AM to 11:00 AM at the Magnolia Chapel, at Berry Highland South Funeral Home (9010 W Simpson Rd, Knoxville, TN 37920). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 26th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, September 27th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Berry Highland South (9010 W Simpson Rd, Knoxville, TN 37920).
