He is survived by: his husband James E. Gipson of Sewanee; his siblings, Ellen Sayer of Cleveland, TN and Paul Strong of Newnan, GA; his adoptive daughter Karen Gorby of Illinois; and his children, Kathryn Kocab of Spring Hill, FL, Laura Novy, Mary Rini, LaVerne Strong of Ohio, Mark Strong and Michael Strong of Ohio.
