As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though James may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Mendenhall and Bessie Acuff Mendenhall; and his son Jim Mendenhall. He is survived by: his wife Alma Yardley Mendenhall; and his children, Mike Mendenhall (Cindy) of Knoxville, Ronald Mendenhall (Angie) of Indiana, Timothy Mendenhall (Kathy) of Indiana and Patricia Joann Borden of Texas. He is also survived by 21 Grandchildren; 32 Great Grandchildren; and 6 Great Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22nd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bridges Funeral Home (5430 Rutledge Pike, Knoxville, TN 37924). A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Greenwood Cemetery (3500 Tazewell Pike, Knoxville, TN 37918).
