He was predeceased by: his parents, Columbus Hyson and Bertie Ellen Ivey McCoig; and his brothers, William Lawrence McCoig (Edith), Clifford McCoig (Ruth), Claude McCoig and Floyd McCoig (Blanche).
He is survived by: his wife Glenda Mae McCoig; his children, Karen (Mike Watson), Eddie (Paula McCoig) and Norma (Tim Huskey); his grandchildren, Melanie (Brian Garner), Michael Watson Jr., Eddie McCoig II and Dakota McCoig (Nicole Rivera); and his great grandchildren, Emma Garner, Damian McCoig, Hannah (Hunter Johnson) and Justin McCoig.
