He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Matney and Della Matney; his wife Shelby West Matney; and his sister Lois Wright of Garden Creek, Virginia.. He is survived by: his children, Allyson Matney Neal (Timothy) of Knoxville, TN and Donald Andrew Matney (Beth) of Sevierville, TN; his sisters, Wanda Lowe of Mavisdale, VA, Phyllis Call of Keen Mountain, VA and Kay Mullins of Mount Jackson, VA.; his grandchildren, Mathew Neal of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Andrew Matney of Johns Island, SC, Linsey Brittingham (Brooks) of Durham, NC, Laurie Goeden (Will) of Lincoln, NE, Alexandra Neal of Knoxville, TN, Laura Ann Madison and Jeremy Banks of Knoxville, TN.; and his great grandchildren, Camden, Calvin, Palmer Brittingham, London, Charlotte and William Goeden. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
