He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter B. Tackett and Beatrice Kirk Tackett; his siblings, Beatrice Lee and Johnny Tackett; and his great great grandchild Carter Shelton.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Tackett (Sparks) of Selmer, TN; his daughters, Karen Sue Phillips (Allen) of Hernando, MS, Linda Gail Crump (Joe) of Selmer, TN and Mary Jane Smith (Myron) of Reagan, TN; his brother Joe Tackett (Shirley) of Selmer, TN; his grandchildren, Stephanie Purviance (Daniel), Janet Bunch (Chris), Laura Beth Tull (Brian), Joseph Crump Jr. (Rachael), Michael Crump, Lori Henry (Jeff) and Carrie Breeden (Joe); his great grandchildren, Ashley Rowland, Hunter Rowland, Tyler Rowland, Sarah Kate Bunch, Emma Leigh Crump, Ames Crump, Olive Tull, McKenzie Bell, Lenzie Breeden and Colton Breeden; and his great great grandchild Brayden Rowland.
