She is survived by : her daughters, Sonja Carter (Alan) of Murfreesboro, TN, Shawana Wade (Alton) of Milan, TN and LaToya Burton (Damion) of Jackson, TN; her grandchildren, Roman "Demaret" Sanders of Jackson, TN, Evan Carter, Avery Carter of Murfreesboro, TN, Jerry Porter, Morgan Wade of Milan, TN, TaKhiah Minter, Harmonie Burton and Lola Patmon of Jackson, TN; her great grandchildren, MoeLena Sanders, Graceson Sanders, Malaiya Sanders and Tru Sanders; her siblings, Jennettea McCoy of Selmer, TN, Mary Tole (Mack) of Jackson, TN, Elise Walker (Elbert) of Selmer, TN, Fred Atkins (Pat) of Chicago, IL, William Atkins (Barbara) of Selmer, TN, Marvin Atkins of Selmer, TN and Eddie Ray Atkins of Selmer, TN; and her aunt Mary Alice Dennis of Memphis, TN. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, June 29th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Forrest Hill Church of Christ (145 Old No 5, Selmer, TN 38375). A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 29th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, June 29th 2024 at the Mt. Zion M. B. Church Cemetery (1329 Purdy Rd, Selmer, TN 38375).
