He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick James, Sr. and Rosalee Nobles Owens; his wife Peggie Smith; his children, Faith Rosanne Grim and Nathan Joe Owens, Jr.; and his siblings, Lorena Bonner, Ethel Beaird, Cassie Youngblood, Mary Jane Wainwright, Faith Owens, Leslie Owens, Roscoe Owens, Newton Owens and Dane Owens.
He is survived by: his children, James M. Owens (Dawn) of Selmer, TN and Corinne Preston (Ken) of Mesa, AZ; his grandchildren, Ryan McQueen (Robyn), Michael McQueen (Kati), Peach Grim, Kimberly Blackwell (Alex) and Heather Johnson (Tony); his great grandchildren, Natalynn McQueen, Colin McQueen, Kailyn Johnson, Logan Johnson, Maya McQueen, Cameron McQueen and Tyler Blackwell; his sister-in-law Margaret Owens of Charleston, MS; and his close friend Bill Curry of Beloit, WI. He is also survived by many extended family and friends.
