He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe David and Dorothy Jean Jones Pettigrew; his brother Clay Pettigrew; his brother-in-law Steve Mitchell; and his grandparents, Lawrence, Alene Chambers Pettigrew, Zelford Clyde and Artie Lee Nixon Jones.
He is survived by: his children, Cole Pettigrew (Brittany), Dalton Pettigrew, Garrett Pettigrew (Tess Smith), Preston Pettigrew (Shay Frye), Weston Pettigrew and Tammy Pettigrew; his grandchildren, Reid Pettigrew, Rylee Pettigrew, Ty Smith, Paisley Pettigrew, Camdynn Pettigrew and Robert Umstead Jr.; his stepchildren, Shelby and Garrett Maness; his siblings, Mitzi Mitchell (Pettigrew), Leigh Evans (David Lynn) and Marty Pettigrew (Michelle); his uncle Sammy Jones; his aunt Betty Stocks; his nieces and nephews, Blake Mitchell, Jill Smith Keen, Madison Pettigrew, Morgan Pettigrew, Daniel Pettigrew, Jay Pettigrew, Montana Pettigrew and Megan Moore (Michael); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Mekenzi Mitchell, Luke Keen, Halle Kate Keen, Trace Mitchell, Jagger Mitchell, Joseph Pettigrew, Thomas Pettigrew and Kaley Pettigrew; and his nephews, Annysten Reese, Tuck and Stevie Klayr Mitchell. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
