He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Biddle and Daisy Bessie Nash Shirley; and his wife Marie Brown. He is survived by: his children, Danny Shirley of Selmer, TN, Mike Shirley (Devona) of Ramer, TN, Ronnie Shirley (Sandra) of Mt. Juliet, TN and Johnnie Ellis of Ramer, TN. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Memorials may be made to the Fourth Street church of Christ in Selmer or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
