He was predeceased by: his parents, James Wiley Shumpert and Lena Shumpert (Richardson); his former wife Sherry Shumpert; and his brother Michael Shumpert. He is survived by: his wife Wanda Shumpert (Bullard); his children, Kim Smith (Justin) and Jim Shumpert (Miranda); his stepdaughters, Chessy Turner (Brad) and Mindy Houston (Jeff); his grandchildren, Waverly Smith and Alena Smith; his stepgrandchildren, Jake Turner, Reagan Houston, Ali Houston and Samuel Houston; and his sister Shirley McFadden. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
