He was predeceased by: his parents, Alton Parker and Johnnie Sue Hayes Herndon; and his sister Linda Holland. He is survived by: his wife Anita Rushing Herndon; his children, Justin Herndon (Courtney), Brandon Shavers (Katie) and Britany Flint (T. A. Jones); and his siblings, Rex Herndon, Jerry Herndon, Larry Herndon and Patricia Smith. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
