She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester Thornton and Ethel Austin Thornton; her spouse Levada Bumpus; her daughter Carolyn Joyce Glenn; and her siblings, Clorene Johnson, Rosie White, Myrtle Winters, Annie Hamilton, Mable Sevier, Robert Lee Thornton, Vernon Thornton and Gus Frank Thornton.
She is survived by: her daughters, Jocondia Mae Pannell of Philadelphia, Vera Dean Porter of Savannah, Irish Faye Moore of Jacksonville and Robbin Denise Bumpus of Savannah, Tennessee. She is also survived by 30 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Shackelford Funeral Directors - Savannah (450 Church St, Savannah, TN 38372). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at the Shelby Cemetery Cherry Chapel.
