He was predeceased by: his parents, Turner Hinton and Nancy Victoria Sheppard Hinton; his grandparents, Thomas and Mary Jane Gean Sheppard; and his siblings, Alma Hinton Scott and Vernon Hinton.
He is survived by: his wife Nadine Tune of Waterloo; his sons, Freddie Hinton of Savannah and Wendell Hinton of Waterloo, Alabama; and his grandchildren, Thomas Earl Hinton of Savannah, Tennessee, Derrick Pickens of Waterloo, D. J. Pickens of Greenfield and Harlee Pickens of Waterloo, Alabama.. He is also survived by husband, loving father and loved his grandchildren.
