He is survived by: his wife Lola Mae McClain; his stepdaughters, Robbie Tylene Melson Pitts (John Wayne Pitts) of Huntsville and Sherry Michelle Melson Timm (Phillip Timm) of Poplar Grove, Illinois; and his siblings, Marilyn Janis of Rockford, Mary Ellen Reynolds of Harvard, Illinois, Debbie Melson of Harvard, Illinois, Peter Thomas Melson of Indiana, Ben Melson of Savannah and David Melson of Rockford, Illinois.. He is also survived by six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
