He was predeceased by: his parents, James Henry and Lois Baker Ervin; his stepson Freddie Sexton; and his siblings, Nolen Eugene Ervin, James Henry Ervin and Charlene Goodrich.
He is survived by: his wife Alma Humphrey of Savannah; his sons, Wallace Harold Ervin of Memphis, Tennessee and Jimmy Wesley Ervin of Memphis, Tennessee; and his siblings, Larry Ervin (Cindy) of Memphis, Milton Ervin (Betty) of Bartlett, Roger Ervin (Vicki) of Louisville, Kentucky, Arnette Allison of Murfreesboro and Bea Royals of Germantown, Tennessee.. He is also survived by six grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
