He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Levi and Noka Lambert Lawson; his wife Frances Roberts; his granddaughters, Diane Brasher and Rhonda Talley; and his siblings, Homer Lawson, James Lawson, Bill Lawson, Larry Lawson and Georgie Rife.
He is survived by: his children, Pam Wilkes (Ronald) of Savannah, Tennessee and Christy Harrison (Steve) of Savannah, Tennessee; his grandsons, Andy Talley (Christy), Jonathan Wilkes (Ashley) and Kevin Wilkes (Missy); his great grandchildren, Chelsea Brasher, Lacie Brasher, Tyler Grammill, Grace Wilkes, Brayden Wilkes, Sophia Wilkes, Maddie Wilkes, Turner Wilkes, Harper Wilkes, Ander Talley, Addison Talley and Acesyn Talley; his great great grandchildren, Eli Robinson and Emmett McFall; and his siblings, Julius "Junior" Lawson of Kentucky, Rick Lawson of North Carolina and Peggy Thompson of Michigan.
