He was predeceased by: his father William "Bill" Petty (Annie Mae); his siblings, James Petty, Dub Petty, Juanita Hall and Betty Jo Hatcher; and his grandchildren, Angel Marie Slater and Matthew Ryan Griffith.
He is survived by: his wife Beulah "Ruth" Petty; his children, Nina Sue Griffith (Donny), Barry Petty (Amanda) and Angela Petty; and his brothers, Billy Petty (Charlotte), Paul Petty (Carolyn) and Donny Petty (Ann). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and extended family.
