He was predeceased by: his parents, Crilla McCarter and Kimsey McCarter; and his great-nephew Carter Hixon. He is survived by: his brother Freddie McCarter (Jessie); his nephew Tony McCarter; his niece Susan Hixon (Travis); and his great-niece Kaylan Hixon. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles.
