He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Wassel and Lena Wassel Hildenbrand; and his sister Violet Schield. He is survived by: his wife Bettie Joy Emerson Wassel; his son Mark Thomas Wassel (Krystal) of Murfreesboro; his grandchildren, Megan Shaver (Clint) and Robert Mark Wassel (Lindsay); and his great grandchildren, Brody, Paxton, Greenlee, Millie Shaver, Talan, Hunter and Sammi Wassel.
