He was predeceased by: his parents, Reese Sims and Beuna Sims (Hundley); his wife Doris June Sims (Cooper); and his sisters, Janet Laura Coleman and Toni Rita Carlton.
He is survived by: his children, Trayce Sims, Shane Sims (Andrea) and Trent Sims; and his brothers, Jimmy Sims (Cathy) and Steve Sims. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
