It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joy Marie Dorris of Rutherford, Tennessee, who passed away on January 18, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, May B. McCoy and George Barrett; and her sister Linda Smith. She is survived by: her children, Tommy Climer and Lori Jones (Joey); her grandchildren, Christopher Climer (Ashlyn), Jennifer Jones, Brittany Rose (Rolando) and Cecily Franklin; her great grandchildren, Boston, Shiann, Ethan, Eli, Auston, Kaya, Leia, Brooklyn Ann and Mila; and her siblings, Michael Barrett and Judy Jacobs. She is also survived by family and lifelong friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home (820 S Church St, Murfreesboro, TN 37130). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
