He was predeceased by: his parents, James Virgil and Mary Lee Black Jernigan; his former wife Barbara Ann Jernigan; and his sisters, Francis Reynolds and Elizabeth Jernigan.
He is survived by: his wife Patsy Adams Jernigan; his children, Jeff Pitts (Melanie), Kaye Jernigan, Connie Hutchinson (Gary) and JoAnne Robichaud (Tim); his siblings, William Jernigan (Dorris), Gale Lewis and Dorothy Perkins; his grandchildren, Olivia Young, Garrick, Rhiannon Hutchinson, Kaitlyn, Matthew, Brandon Robichaud and Robert Jernigan; and his great grandchildren, Emma and Owen Young.
