She was predeceased by: her husband George Rush; her sons, Steven Hughes, Jimmy Hughes, Casey Rush and Dannye Rush; her parents, Floyd Kennedy and Marie Kennedy; her siblings, Carolyn Morgan, Martin Kennedy and Floyd "Buzz" Kennedy; and her pet Iris.
She is survived by: her children, Sheila Hughes Mayes of Bristol, TN, Ginger Strohm (Bill) of Jonesborough and Martin Hughes of Rogersville; her grandchildren, Jessica Schubert (Michael), Michael Seneker (Allison), Daniel Hughes, Sandra Hughes, Dustin Hughes, Jason Hughes, Alex Strohm, Lee Ann Strohm and Emily Bailey; and her siblings, Teresa Meade (Benny), James Kennedy (Phyllis) of Jonesville, VA and John Kennedy (Cleta) of St. Charles, VA. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
