She was predeceased by: her parents, Edmond VanCleave and Ocie VanCleave; her husband Max Earl Mays; her son Dennis Earl Mays; her siblings, Celton VanCleave (Mary), Terrell VanCleave, Jerry VanCleave (Linda) and Betty Gray (Don); her parents-in-law, Delton and Nettie Mays; her brothers-in-law, James Mays (Billy) and Dave Smith; and her nephews, Mark Mays and Zachary Wood.
She is survived by: her daughter Laura Gaye Mays; her sisters-in-law, Phyllis VanCleave and Linda Smith; and her pet Jasper. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Highland Cemetery (899 E Main St, Rogersville, TN 37857).
