With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Hurd of Rogersville, Tennessee, born in Blackwater, Virginia, who passed away on May 18, 2021 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Hurd; his parents, Roxie Hurd and Taylor Hurd; his son Benny Hurd; his siblings, Lawrence Hurd, Henry Hurd, Reece Hurd, Lonnie Hurd, Macy Price, Ruby Bradley, Netttie Tankersley and Lucy Hurd; and his grandsons, Billy and Johnny Van Buren.
He is survived by: his daughter Sue Van Buren (Bill Van Buren); his grandson Jimmy Van Buren (Jodi) of Blountville, TN; and his great grandchildren, Molly Van Buren, Abby Rose Van Buren and Libby Van Buren. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Memorials contributions may be given to Smyrna Baptist Church.
