He was predeceased by: his significant other Marguerite Harris; his son-in-law Sammy Ayres; and his parents, Frank Harris and Lula Harris. He is survived by: his daughters, Cynthia "Cyndi" Ayres (Jeff Ricker) of Mosheim and Hollie Dyer (Jeff Dyer); and his grandsons, James Qualls, Jonathon Qualls of Asheville, NC and Jamie Dyer of Temple, Texas. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends.
