He was predeceased by: his wife Pynthia Spears; his parents, Bleve Spears and Bessie Spears; and his siblings, Virgil Spears, Helen Walker and Lilly Spears.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Spears Ward and Nathan Spears (Patty); and his grandchildren, Shannon Ward (Jamie), Beth Ward and Sam Spears. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
