He was predeceased by: his wife Eilieen Elizabeth Hardesty; his parents, Harvey F. Hardesty and Charlotte Carrick Hardesty; and his siblings, Rose Blair, Henry Hardesty, Charles Hardesty and Leonard L. Hardesty.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Boone and Harvey D. Hardesty, Jr. of Abingdon, MD; his grandchildren, Kristin Wade and Nicholas Boone; his great grandchildren, Mason and Marleigh Rose; and his siblings, Gertude Pascall of Abingdon, VA and Robert "Bobby" Hardesty. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
