He was predeceased by: his wife Eva June McLain Burrell; his son Gary Burrell; his parents, Gilbert Burrell and Edna Burrell; and his siblings, Bonnie Sauceman, Gladys Miller, Verna White, Bessie Burns and Paul (Talmadge Burrell).
He is survived by: his children, Thelma Matthews (Marvin), Jennifer Laux, Audie, Jerry and Benny Burrell; his grandchildren, Michael "Burl" Matthews (Jamie), Angel Matthews, Sherry Greer Triplett, Mikey Greer and Marcus Greer; and his great grandchildren, Erica, Noah Willis, Boone, Knox, Scout Matthews, Darrell, Barbara, Amelya and Issac. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
