He is survived by: his wife Shirley Dean Smith; his stepchildren, Phyllis Jones and B. G. Skeens; his grandson Adam Jones; his great grandchild Lil Lexie Jones; and his brother Jimmy Smith. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
