He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Nelson; his parents, Clarence Nelson and Nelle Lee Treadway Nelson; and his siblings, Clarence Howard "Bugs" Nelson Jr. (Anna), L. D. Nelson (Sue) and Doris Clayton (Jerry).
He is survived by: his children, Cindy Hurst (Kenny) and Phillip Nelson (Meg); his grandchildren, Christina Trahan (Damien), Joshua Klyce (Sheena), David Nelson (Hannah), Karis Nelson and Aubrianna Nelson; and his great grandchildren, Cora Nelson, Kaladin Nelson and Elowyn Nelson.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Vision Independent Baptist Church (720 S Kingston Ave, Rockwood, TN 37854). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Oak Grove Cemetery (699 E Strang St, Rockwood, TN 37854).
