He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Shelly and Eva Shelly; his brothers, Charles Ray Shelley and Lynn Shelley; and his nephew Matthew Shelley.
He is survived by: his son James Shelley Jr. (Crystal) of Harriman, TN; his close friend Pansy Waldo of Rockwood, TN.; his daughter Renee Bunch of Coalfield, TN.; his grandchildren, Emily N. Shelley of Harriman, TN and Riley Moore of Coalfield, TN.; his brother Ronnie Shelley of Knoxville, TN; and his nieces and nephews, Jamie Shelley of Knoxville, TN, Ronnie Shelley Jr. of Knoxville, TN, Sherry Carr and Tina.
