He was predeceased by: his parents, John Walter Proffitt and Lue Elcy Price Proffitt; and his siblings, Esther Brown, Mary Smith, Jane Grasham and Houston Walter Proffitt.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra "Kay" Proffitt; his children, Nancy Leigh Proffitt Spurling (Tim) and Paul Edd Proffitt; and his grandchildren, Grayson David Proffitt, Joshua Lee Spurling, Josie Marlo Proffitt and Tanner Nobel Proffitt. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Daysville Baptist Church.
