He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Patrick and Myra Ella Creekmore Childs; his siblings, George Thomas Childs and Jeepie Driskill; his nephew Richard Driskill; his brother-in-law Charlie Ingram; and his aunt Peggy Creekmore Worley.
He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Thomas Burdine Childs; his children, Elaine Burdine Walker (David), Tommy Burdine (Stephanie) and Sherry Burdine Fischbach (John); his grandchildren, Jonathan Walker (Elizabeth), Tyler Walker, Samantha Walker, Abigail Burdine and Lily Kate Burdine; and his sisters, Joyce Ingram, Jo Carr (Frank) and Debbie Counts (Parker). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
