He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Huke Slatton and Bertha Kilgore Slatton; his daughter Teresa Ann White; his siblings, Norna Mae Campbell, Rachel Griffith, Elsie Slatton, Dorothy Higgins, Margie Smith, Everett, Billy Curg, Johnny, Wallace and Franklin Slatton; his wife Zella Fults Slatton; his son Charles Slatton (Melissa); his brother R. B. Slatton (Carolyn); and his grandchildren, Nathanael, Isabella, Elisha (Zoey), Jaqueline (Levi) and Elizabeth. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
