He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Cecil Gaines, Jr. and Velma Mincy Gaines; his siblings, Sandra Gaines Perry, Barbara Gaines Byrd, Shirley Gaines Godsey, Patricia Gaines Kast, Pamela Gaines Johnson, Harold Gaines, Bill Gaines and Terry Gaines; and his son Duane Gaines.
He is survived by: his son Kris Gaines (Nicole) of Kingston, TN; his daughter-in-law Carolyn Gaines of Oliver Springs; his grandchildren, Chasity Gaines, Jeremy Gaines, Micheal Gaines, Buddy and Colten Gaines; his great grandchildren, Tyler Gaines, Jacob Sloan, Makyla McCarroll, Abel Gaines, Ayden Byrd and Heaven Gaines; his brother David Gaines of Niota; and his nieces, LaShawn Gaines-Peoples of Spring City, Cindy Gaines Jacobsen of Spring City and Debbie Godsey Henningfield of Mechanicsville, MD. He is also survived by several other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
