He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Shoemaker and Madie Shoemaker; his wife Naomi Shoemaker; his son Danny Shoemaker; his grandson Charles "Daniel" Shoemaker; his siblings, Robert Shoemaker, James Shoemaker and Betty Jean Miller; and his brother-in-law David Perkins.
He is survived by: his sons, Steve Shoemaker of Rockwood, TN and Michael Shoemaker of Greeneville, TN.; his siblings, Bill Shoemaker (Willene) of Chattanooga, TN. and Shirley Pemberton (John) of Kingston, TN.; his sister-in-law Martha Giles of Ringgold, GA; his grandchildren, Steven "Connor" Shoemaker of Mosheim, TN., Amanda "Mechele" Shoemaker of Rockwood, TN and Jessica Brasel (Carey) of Rockwood, TN.; and his great grandchildren, Tyler Wicks (Nikole) of Johnson City, TN, Taylor Wicks of Rockwood, TN, Thomas Wicks of Rockwood, TN, Tristen Brasel of Rockwood, TN and Makenzie Brasel of Rockwood, TN. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the family has decided to not hold public funeral services.
