He is survived by: his son Charles E.; his daughter-in-law Tammy Cates; his siblings, James'Eddie' (Gena Cates), Thomas Cates, Lois Maddox, Jean Cooley and Margie Purdue; his grandchildren, Shawn (Tianna Cates), Jeremy (Madison Cates) and T. J. Wicks; and his great grandchildren, Mason, Trinity and Piper. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
